George E. Nelson, age 88, of Perley, MN, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, in his home. No services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
George Edward Nelson was born on April 7, 1935, to Carl and Katherine (Schibstead) Nelson in rural Perley, MN, on the family farm. In June of 1958, George enlisted in the United States Army and served for two years of active duty before his honorable discharge in April of 1960. On September 16, 1966, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Betty Berglie. They made their home in rural Perley on the family farm. George always had a passion for tending to the land.
He will forever be missed by his wife of almost 58 years, Betty Nelson. George was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Katherine Nelson.
