George "Butch" Wessels

Butch “George” Herman Wessels, 63, Kindred, ND, died August 21, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

George Herman Wessels, Jr. was born on November 2, 1951 to George and Wilma Wessels in Mott, ND.

He grew up in Leonard, ND and graduated from high school in 1969. After graduation, he entered the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA, Camp Lejeune, NC, and Japan. He achieved the rank of Sergeant at the time of his honorable discharge. Butch married Ramona on May 11, 1984 in Fargo, ND. They have lived in the Kindred, ND area since 1990. He was a licensed insurance producer since 1981. He loved spending time with his family, friends, hunting, and fishing.

Butch leaves behind his wife, Ramona; daughter, Jessica (TJ) Lindsey; son, Erik (Micca) Rasmussen and 4 grandchildren, Liam Lindsey, Zeth, Mazie and Zane Hahn.

He is also survived by his brother, Greg (Diana) Wessels, Leonard, ND: sisters, Jane Syverson, West Fargo, ND; Judy (Paul) Anderson, Leonard, ND; Joy (Howard) Woodbury, Wahpeton, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George H. Wessels, Sr. and Wilma Wessels; brother, Walter George; brothers-in-law, Sherman Syverson, Kevin Olson; niece, Sarah Anderson and several lifelong friends.
