Gene Keith Gendreau

Gene Gendreau, 70, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at The Wellstead of Rogers, Rogers, MN.

Gene Keith Gendreau was born June 3, 1943 to Bert and Esther (Drewlow) Gendreau in Fargo, ND. He attended schools in Fargo, graduating from Fargo Central High School in 1961. He then received a Business Degree from Dakota Business College, Fargo. Gene married Marjorie Gwyther Gendreau on March 6, 1964 in Fargo.

Gene worked for Consolidated Telephone Company in Dickinson, ND for 38 years as Chief Financial Officer, retiring in 1998. Gene was very involved in the community, giving a great deal of care and concern for the city of Dickinson and its residents. He served in many organizations, including the Dickinson Rotary Club, the Northern Lights Council, Boy Scouts of America, the Dickinson Library Board, and served on the Dickinson City Council for 18 years. Gene was also very involved in his church, Dickinson United Methodist, in a variety of capacities. He also served as a Stephen Minister. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and reading.

Gene is survived by his wife, Marge; children, Jeffrey (Cathy) Gendreau, Andover, MN; Kari (Todd) Schwartz, Lino Lakes, MN; Keith (Jennifer) Gendreau, Chaska, MN; sister, Elaine (Gerald) Schatz, Fargo, ND; and four grandchildren, John and Rachel Gendreau; and Abigail and Ethan Schwartz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.
