Gene Fisher, 96, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Essentia Health in Fargo.

Eugene Scott Fisher was born December 20, 1926 in Bismarck, ND to parents, Jake and Verna (Scott) Fisher; they lived in Regan, ND. He attended school at Canfield, Macomber, and graduated from Wilton High School.

Gene enlisted in the US Navy in 1944 and served in the South Pacific for 26 months on a small landing craft. They lost their ship in Buckner Bay, Okinawa in October of 1945.

Gene married Beverly Bakke on July 3, 1949 in Twin Valley, MN.

He attended NDAC in 1946 and 1947. He was employed at Bilstad Co., Firestone, Kraft Foods Company, and spent the following 31 years with Folgers/P&G. He loved family, friends, golf, and gardening.

Gene is survived by his wife of 74 years, Beverly; children, Susan (David) Wee, Fargo, ND; Steve Fisher, Minneapolis, MN; Nancy Fisher, Fargo, ND; Charles (Zhao Ping Zhu) Fisher, El Monte, CA; granddaughters, Kate (Jesse) Score, Fargo, ND; Luna (Thomas Lane) Zhu, Findlay, OH; great-grandson, Elliott Score; brother, Neil (Marge) Fisher, San Francisco, CA; sister-in-law, Peggy Fisher, Fargo, ND; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Franklin Fay; and sister, Nina Nash.

Memorials preferred to Olivet Lutheran Church - 1330 University Drive South, Fargo, ND.

Memorial Service: 11am, Monday, December 11, 2023 at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND with a visitation one hour prior. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
