Gary Hart, 80, of Pelican Rapids, MN, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo, ND.

Gary Dennis Hart was born August 15, 1942 in Fargo, ND to Cyril and Lillian (Johnson) Hart. He had a younger brother, Les, who he enjoyed many special memories with.

Gary was united in marriage to Karen Bakken on May 8, 1965 in Pelican Rapids. He lived in Fargo all his life, and he worked at Hornbacher's Foods from when he was a sophomore in high school until his retirement in 2005. Gary served for seven years in the ND Army National Guard.

After retirement, they moved to Pelican Lake where he enjoyed family, building their lake home, mowing the lawn, and fixing things (which earned him the nickname "MacGarver"). He always said they had a "million-dollar view" while enjoying happy hour with friends and family from the deck he built.

Gary was a member of the Edgewood Lions, a NDSU Bison Teammaker, served on various Pelican Lake boards, and was a 40-year member of the Valley Vintage Car Club where he enjoyed showing his "Little Red Corvette".

Gary was a kind and thoughtful man who touched many lives. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

Gary is survived by his wife of 58 years, Karen; children, Michele (Chad) Pundsack, Fargo, ND; Michael (Amy) Hart, Bloomington, MN; and grandchildren, Sophie Pundsack and Jesse Hart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Les Hart.

Funeral Service: 11:00am, Friday, April 21, 2023 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND with a visitation one hour prior.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND
