Galen Allen Nettum

Galen Allen Nettum was born November 21, 1949 in Fargo, ND to Hjalmar and Hilma (Salle) Nettum. He grew up on the family farm near Kindred, North Dakota. Galen graduated from Kindred High School in 1967 and North Dakota State University in 1971. Galen married Julie B. Satrom in 1970; they had two children, Tami Jo Nettum Lieberg and Jamie Nettum. Galen served in the United States Army active duty until 1974 and then the Army Reserves until 1988. During this time he also farmed with his father in Kindred. Galen and Julie owned and operated 3 Keys Floral in Fargo, ND from 1975 until 2003.

In 2006, Galen married Tracy Kadlec and welcomed three step children, Alex, Alyssa and Bailey. They were also blessed with the birth of Jack in 2009. From 1992 until his death, Galen worked as a claims manager and crop adjuster for NAU/QBE insurance.

Galen was an active member of the Kindred American Legion Honor Guard for over 25 years. He was a co-founder of Fargo Flames hockey and active member on the Fargo Patriots hockey board for 3 years. Galen was a member of AGR Fraternity at NDSU from 1967-1971. He served as chapter advisor from 1974-1979 and was appointed to the AGR House Board from 1994-1998.

Galen is survived by his wife, Tracy Kadlec, Fargo, ND; his children, Tami Jo (Randy) Lieberg, East Grand Forks, MN, Jamie (Megan) Nettum, Harwood, ND, Jack Nettum, Fargo, ND; his step-children, Alex Pribula, West Fargo, ND, Alyssa Pribula, Moorhead, MN and Baily Englerth, Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Blake, Garrett, Juliana and Jethro; his brothers, Mark Nettum, Fargo, ND and Les (Mary) Nettum, Lake Park, MN; his sister, Fran (Don) Nelson, Gilbert, Arizona; his mother and father-in-law, Rodney and Audrey Kadlec of Pisek, ND; brother-in-law, Neil (Katie) Kadlec, Minot, ND and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hjalmar and Hilma and his first wife, Julie Beth (Satrom) Nettum.
