Frank Kaggerud

Frank was born February 25, 1911, in Fargo, ND, to Magnus and Karen (Pedersen) Kaggerud. He passed away March 30, 2010, at Bethany Homes. As a young boy, he attended school in Norway and Crosby, ND. Frank always loved music and played in a City Band in Crosby, ND. Frank entered the Army December 1932. He served in World War II. Most of his military career, he played French horn in the Army Field Band, where he was featured as a soloist numerous times. He traveled all over the world with the band. He retired from the military in 1955. Frank spent a few years in Davenport, ND, with his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Julius Reise. He had many close friends in Florida, where he lived for 11 years. Frank had a love for animals, especially his little friends, Scooter, Betsy and Casper. He loved crossword puzzles, late night television, spending time at the lake and music of all kinds. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Magnus and Karen Kaggerud; his twin brother, Bjarne; sister, Mary Reise and brother-in-law, Julius Reise; and nephews, Clarence Reise and George Hanna. He leaves behind, nieces Clara (Eugene) Edwardson, Carrington, ND; Alta (Mel) Zepper, Moorhead, MN; Julie (Ray) Baumler, Moorhead, MN; Karen (Allen) Stromstad, Fertile, MN; Mona (DeWayne) Streyle, Leeds, ND; nephew, Bob (Mikel) Reise, Eau Claire, WI; and many great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews. We will all miss Frank’s laughter and many good times we had with him. Visitation: Saturday, April 3, 2010, 2 – 4 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Graveside Service: Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at 2:00 PM, at Manasota Memorial Park, Bradenton, FL.
