Frank Deitz was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota on January 24, 1946, and passed away Monday, November 28, 2011. His parents were Philomena (Reiger) and Walter Deitz. Frank graduated as Class President from Devils Lake Central High School in 1964. He went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in agriculture at NDSU in 1968. He followed that up with a Master's Degree in Animal Science 1970. Frank continued to do research towards a doctorate degree, earning him a patent for his work with cows and publication of his work finding traces of mercury in numerous tissue samples. In 1967, he married Bonnie Nygaard and had son, Jonathan (1969) and daughter, Michelle (1974). Frank married his current wife and best friend, Ginger, in 1981. Through marriage, he was proud to gain two more daughters, Paula (1975) and Jennifer (1978). Sons, Joshua and Zachariah, were welcomed into the family in 1983 and 1984, respectively. Frank loved his family and friends dearly. It was a great day for him when he could shop at Menards before it even opened, grab a coffee and drive around town listening to Piano Man and Crazy (Patsy Cline) while looking for more deals or fix something using his jackknife. The best part of his day, however, was to have his love, Ginger by his side, and to meet their friends and family at the place with the best happy hour special that day - and hopefully, karaoke. Like grandson Jack said, "It's just not gonna be as fun without grandpa around." Frank is survived by wife, Virginia (Schmidt); son, Jonathan (Stephanie) Deitz, Dilworth, MN; daughter, Michelle (Kevin) Lund, St. Peter, MN; daughter, Paula (Scott) Koltes, Bloomington, MN; daughter, Jennifer McKinnon, Fargo, ND; son, Joshua Deitz, Fargo, ND; son Zachariah Deitz, Valley City, ND; eleven grandchildren, Koleman, Elias, Milena and Kelson Lund, St. Peter, MN; Jonny, Jorgen, Josiah and Jack Deitz, Dilworth, MN; Gannon and Nathan Koltes, Bloomington, MN; Cael Deitz, Valley City, ND; sister, Eileen (Maurice) Railing, Devils Lake, ND; sister, Gladys (Dave) Walford, Devils Lake, ND and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
