Frances Elaine (McCommon) Zinck, 80 years old of Fargo, ND died January 20, 2008 at ManorCare, Fargo, North Dakota after a long battle with cancer. Frances (Fran) was born to the parents Martha and Guy McCommon July 19, 1927 in Jamestown, ND, one of 12 children. She attended Jamestown Public School and graduated in 1945. She married Howard George Zinck, November 28, 1947. They lived in Jamestown and settled in Fargo, ND where she resided until her death. Frances was a loving and devoted wife and a caring and generous mother. She was employed by Jamestown FHA and Northwestern Bell Telephone Company before focusing herself on her family. Fran was an outgoing person participating in the PTA of Washington School and Carl Ben Eielson Middle School, and served as President for each. She was a leader with the Bluebirds, Campfire Girls and served as President of La Sertoma. Fran was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was most happy working with youth groups and served many years as a Sunday school teacher. She sang in the church choir with her three daughters and son. She was also a member of her Ladies Bridge Club for over 50 years. She is survived by her husband Howard George Zinck of Fargo, and children Charmelle (Glenn) Olson of Woodbury, MN, Denice Rich of Manhattan, NY, Daniel (Stephanie) Zinck of West Fargo, ND, Barbara (Matt) Swantek of Owatonna, MN; grandchildren Chad, Kyle, Alison, Zachary, Jasmine, Brody, Garrett, and great-grandchild Haley. Brother Donald (Patricia) McCommon of Jamestown, ND; sisters Darlene (Mick) Hogan of Jamestown, ND, Florence (Aseop) Betsch of Jamestown, ND, Evelyn (Lloyd) Hinchberger of Devils Lake, ND. She was preceded in death by her mother Martha and father Guy McCommon of Jamestown, ND, brothers Raymond McCommon of Jamestown, ND, Roger McCommon of Pasco, Wa, and Eugene McCommon of Livingston, MT, sisters Betty McCommon of Livingston, MT, Eleanor (Walt) Anderson of Lisbon, ND, and Mildred (Louis) Boelke of Jamestown, ND, and Brother-in-law Aesop Betsch of Jamestown, ND. Funeral service will be Friday, January 25, 2008 at 10:00 am at First Presbyterian Church, Fargo, ND. Frances will be entombed at Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements made by Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Memorials to be sent to First Presbyterian Church, 650 2 Ave N, Fargo, ND 58103.
