Frances Timian

Frances A. Timian, 82, of Fargo, ND, joined the Lord in heaven Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Villa Maria, Fargo. Frances Anna Newman was born June 12, 1928, in Carson, North Dakota, daughter of Cecil and Otillia (Durback) Newman. She spent much of her childhood raised by Anna and Walter Pansky in Mandan, North Dakota. She met the love of her life while a student at North Dakota State University in Fargo. Frances married Roland Gustav Timian on March 17, 1949, in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Fargo. Following their college years, they settled in Fargo where they joined Immanuel Lutheran Church. Frances remained an active member for over 50 years. She loved music, reading, traveling throughout the world, and playing solitaire. She shared her faith throughout her life, serving others in her church, the Veteran’s Hospital and Servant events in the United States and Mexico. She was known for her laughter and wonderful stories. Her door was always open to help those in need. She was “grandma” to many who loved and adored her. Frances is survived by her children, James Timian, Fargo, ND; Carol Timian, St. Cloud, MN; Yvonne Timian, Fargo, ND; Steven Timian, Sand Point, ID; and Paulette (Kevin) Olson, Cape Girardeau, MO; her brother, Myron Newman; and five sisters, Florence Wodnick; Helen Riggers; Ruth Kinzer; Rosie Hopper, and LaVonne Brandenberg; and four grandchildren, Matthew, Jonathan, Sarah and Rachel Olson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her partner in life, Roland; and daughter-in-law, Tenar Woodring. Memorials may be sent to Bethesda Lutheran Home, Watertown, Wisconsin or Immanuel Lutheran Church Youth Program, Fargo. Funeral Service: Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 10:00 AM, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Fargo. Visitation: Wednesday, May 4, 2011, from 4:30 – 7:00 P.M. at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. Prayer Service: Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at 7:00 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Dresden, North Dakota (at a later date)
