Frances Monge, 95, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo. Frances A. Toohey was born November 8, 1915, in Hunter, North Dakota, daughter of Harry and Esther (Brase) Toohey. She came to Fargo as an infant and resided there ever since except for two years in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, 1948 – 1950. Frances attended Fargo schools and graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1933. She married Gorden L. Monge April 12, 1934, in Moorhead, Minnesota. He died July 16, 1969. Frances was employed by the Arc of Cass County, Cass County Historical Society and St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing, retiring from the school in 1985, after 15 years. Frances is survived by four sons, Larry (Audrey), Wahpeton, ND; Lee, Fargo, ND; Lynn (ArNetta), Fargo, ND; and Wayne (Linda), Fargo, ND; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gorden; her parents; sisters, Leone Prellwitz, Ardyce Peterson, and Delores Toohey. Memorials are preferred to Salvation Army, First United Methodist Church of Fargo and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Funeral Service: Monday, February 21, 2011, at 11:00 AM, First United Methodist Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
