Florence Anderson

Florence M. Anderson, 74, of Fargo, North Dakota, died Sunday, November 7, 2010, at Sanford Palliative Care Unit in Fargo. Florence Swanson was born July 28, 1936, in Wheatland, ND, to Fred and Ruth (Marshall) Swanson, where she grew up and attended school. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Martin’s Lutheran Church in Casselton, ND. She graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing, Fargo in 1956. She married Clarence M. Anderson on December 29, 1957, in Casselton, ND, and they made their home in Fargo. Her husband preceded her in death on July 6, 1992. Holding various positions, she was employed at MeritCare Medical Center her entire life. She also served on the Board of Elm Terrace Condominium Association for several years. She is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Denise) Anderson, Goodrich, TX; and a daughter, Sherri (Mark) Polansky, Ham Lake, MN; four grandchildren, Todd (Karla), Justin (Kaitlyn), Alex and Valentina; four brothers, John (Judy) Swanson, West Fargo, ND; Paul (Patricia Dirk) Swanson, Fargo, ND; Roy Swanson, Wheatland, ND; Robert (Lynn) Swanson; LeMars, IA; three sisters, June Reik, Cleveland, OH; Pearl Gross, Fargo, ND; and Millie Dahl, Overland Park, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Clarence. Funeral Service: Thursday, November 11, 2010, at 1:00 PM, at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, November 10, 2010, from 5-7:00 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
