Everett "Jack" Erbstoesser

October 31, 1926 — February 13, 2014

Everett "Jack" Erbstoesser, 87, entered the kingdom of heaven on 2/13/14 under Hospice care, surrounded by his beloved wife of 59 years, JoAnne, and their children.

Everett "Jack" was born to Frederick and Mabel (Hahn) Erbstoesser near Chaffee, ND on 10/31/26. In his youth he worked for the family farm and at his Uncle Eddie's farm, raising and hauling livestock. During WWII Jack attempted to enlist in every branch of the armed services, finally making weight and enlisting in the US Air Force after the war. He served his country proudly for two years stationed in Georgia and California. Rumor has it that he had a roll of quarters in his pocket when he finally made weight. After his enlistment he married JoAnne Rourke on 11/26/1954. They made their home in various communities in the state while Jack worked as an equipment operator for various contractors in the FM area. He spent a portion of this time working on the missile sites in northern North Dakota. Jack and JoAnne made Fargo their permanent home in 1961 in the house they still make their home in today. After a few years of operating equipment in the area, Jack bought a trucking company and that was the birth of Erbstoesser & Sons, later incorporating to Erbstoesser Trucking, which he owned and operated till the time of his retirement.

In retirement Jack kept busy with the things that made him happiest, visiting with friends, lawn work, and dog sitting for the neighbors while they were at work. He had a zest for life and everyone that knew him always enjoyed his company.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnne, and children: Charles (Sharon), Scott (Sherry Clark), Mitchell, Jerry (Monte Jones), James (Connie), and special niece, Linda Wendlick (Larry); grandchildren: Tracey, Cory, Josh, Brandon, and Jackson; great-grandchildren: Jon, Cale, Alexander, Ella, Gavin, Jayden, Brandon Jr. and Mia; his sister, Darlene Peterson (Herman); several nieces and nephews; and his special friend and puppy, Max.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Herbert, Daniel, Franklin, infant twin Derald, and Frederick (Shorty); his sisters, Doris, Dorothy, and Delores.
