In the early morning hours on April 8, 2020, Evelyn Wilkerson, beloved and loving mother, wife, and sister, passed away at the age of 85 at the Sanford Hospice House in Fargo, ND.
Evelyn was born on November 9, 1934 in Long Prairie, MN. On June 18, 1954, she married Jack Wilkerson; together they raised three children: David, Marian and Sally. They put down their roots in Fargo, ND.
For over 50 years, Evelyn ran a daycare from her home, where she became a grandma to so many of the children she cared for. She was also an active member of her church, Golden Ridge Lutheran Church and served as a chairman for many years. She believed “Everyone is a child of God, no matter who they were” and treated everyone as such.
Evelyn loved spending time with her family and friends, going out for breakfast on Saturday mornings, the daily coffee and gossip sessions, and of course, her weekly card games, where she could always brag about her great grandchildren.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ellen Bangert; husband, Jack Wilkerson; partner, Ed Magnson; sister, Connie (Jim) TeVogt; and brother, LeRoy Bangert.
She is survived by her children; David, Marian and Sally, sister, Carol Harrington, grandchildren; Laura, Sara, Evan and Aidan, and her great grandchildren; Phenix, Piper, Declan and Amelia, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins, and many extended kids and grandkids.
