Evelyn Fay (Leathart) Mickelson was born July 31, 1915 in Fairmount, North Dakota to Howard and Florence (Blake) Leathart. She graduated from Fairmount High School in 1933 and went on to attend Dakota Business College. She worked for Kay’s Printing Co. and Dakota Clinic (now Essentia) for over twenty three years, retiring at age sixty three.
Evelyn was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary for over 55 years and served as President from 1966-1967. She was also a member of Easter Star, and United Methodist Church.
Evelyn died Thursday, August 8 at Villa Maria in Fargo, ND. She is survived by her daughters, Rita Kay (Urban) Neisen, and Nancy Fay (Paul) Sypniewski; sons, David John (Marlene) Stillman; grandchildren, Joel (LuAnn) Neisen, Jeff Neisen, Timothy Neisen, Daniel Neisen, Mary Kay (Paul) Laxen, Brian Neisen, Jessica (Dan) Schumacher, Erica (Chuck) Vose, Leana (Andy) Stone, Justin Stillman, Jacob Laxen and Nicolas Laxen; great grandchildren, Michael (Saundra) Neisen, Mathew Neisen, Benjamin Neisen, Joseph Neisen, Natalie Neisen and Lindsay (Jeremy) Neisen-Syring; and great-great granddaughter, Grace Evelyn Neisen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin Mickekelson; son, James Howard Stillman; and sister, Eleanor Campbell.
