Eva Christianson

September 26, 1923 — June 23, 2009

Eva Eldora Enget was born on September 26, 1923, in Detroit Lakes, MN, to John and Anna (Henrikson) Enget and grew up on a farm near Audubon, MN. She attended school in Becker County and graduated from eighth grade. She married Burton Christianson and they had three children. They resided in Horace, ND. Eva worked many jobs ranging from picking potatoes, to Mayor of Horace, city assessor, waitress at M & J Steakhouse in West Fargo, dietician assistant at the VA Hospital in Fargo, and working at Dakota Clinic in Fargo starting out washing dishes for the lab and working her way up to a job in the Pathology Department. She retired from Dakota Clinic after many years. Eva enjoyed going for long walks, playing pool, dice, cards, country music, painting, and spending time with her twin sister at the lakes. Eva is survived by her three children, Yvonne (Leonard) Swanson, Fargo, ND; Karen (Myron) Hjelden, Lake Lida, MN; and Dale (Kathy) Christianson, Fargo, ND; twin sister, Edythe Braun, Detroit Lakes, MN; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, and 16 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Joe Marion; siblings, Frances, Mayme, Maurice, Florence, Isabelle, Hilder “Blanche”, and Ambrose “Mike”; as well as special friend, Wayne Steffen. Funeral Service: 2pm, Friday, June 26, 2009 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Visitation: 12:30-2pm, Friday, at the funeral home. Burial: Audubon Cemetery, Audubon, MN at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association or Pelican Valley Nursing Home, Pelican Rapids, MN.
