Eugene Morken

Eugene D. Morken, 75, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2009, at MeritCare Palliative Care, Fargo, ND. Eugene was born on August 8, 1934, in Pekin, North Dakota, to Emil and Irene (LaPoint) Morken. He graduated from high school in Pekin and went onto Interstate Business College, where he met Rosemary Wagner. They were married on May 25, 1958, in Fisher, Minnesota. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. They resided in Fargo, ND, where Eugene worked for Fairmont Creamery/Cass Clay Creamery for 44 years. Eugene enjoyed playing cards and bingo, going to the casino and socializing and making friends. He is survived by daughters, Amy (Tim)Vilhauer and Nancy (Allan) Schafer; son, Todd (Michelle) Morken; six grandchildren, Lisa and Laura Vilhauer; Allex and Kylie Schafer; Seth and Noah Morken, all of Fargo, ND; three sisters, Lois Orwick, Michigan, ND; Donna Franzen, Soldotna, AK; and Dorothy (Wayne) Leuhring, Lakota, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosemary; infant sister; and two brothers-in-law, Harry Franzen and Idean Orwick. Funeral Service: Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 10AM at Grace Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Monday, August 31, 2009 from 5-7PM at Hanson Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND with a Prayer Service at 7PM. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
