Ethel M. Buehl, 97, died Wednesday, May 13, 2020 in the Bethany on University Care Center in Fargo.
Ethel was born in Frazee, MN on September 20, 1922 to Herman and Martha (Maves) Buehl. She graduated from Frazee High School in 1939. She attended classes at North Dakota Agricultural College (NDSU) earning a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics in 1944. Ethel taught home economics in several Minnesota schools and eventually went on to do post graduate work at NDSU. She was awarded a Masters Degree in Textiles and Clothing from NDSU in 1968. Throughout her life, Ethel enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling with her sisters, collecting, letter writing to friends and loved ones, and supporting charities that were dear to her.
Jesus her Savior was especially important to Ethel, and she was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fargo for many years. Ethel regularly attended worship and various ladies Bible studies until her declining health prevented her from participating in these activities that she loved so much. Ethel now rests from her earthly labors, in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting – God’s gifts to all who trust in Jesus.
Ethel is survived by extended relatives and several close friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Leone and Dorothy.
Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fargo or Lutheran Hour Ministries in St Louis, Missouri.
