Erna Elizabeth Langseth, 93 of Ada, MN, died Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Benedictine Care Community, Ada, MN.
Erna Elizabeth Turn was born September 30, 1921 in Mary Township, the daughter of Harry and Lizzie Turner, at Ada, Minnesota. She attended rural school there and then graduated from Ada High School in 1939. She later attended the Fargo Business College in Fargo, ND. She worked at Western Newspaper Union doing bookkeeping and secretarial work, until she married Captain Emery A. Langseth on July 9, 1945 at First Lutheran Church in Fargo.
She went along with Emery while he was in the Armed Forces during World War II. She did office work at all the various places where they lived, including Gainesville, Florida and for the Army at Ft. Devens, Mass.
When Emery was discharged from service in May of 1946, they returned to Fargo, and Erna went back to work again for Western Newspaper Union, now called Western Paper Company. She was Purchasing and Inventory Clerk for the Fine Paper Division. She worked there for over 40 years, until retiring in May of 1984.
Her husband Emery died on July 16, 1993.
Erna was an active and long time member of First Lutheran Church of Fargo where she worked as a Secretary in the Sunday School for 20 years. She was a Circle member for many years also.
She is survived by Ray Turner (brother).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery, brother, Earl Turner, brother Harvey Turner, Sister Alice Schenkey and Niece Judy Lisburg.
