Erik Daniel Susag was born November 6, 1980 at St Luke's Hospital in Fargo, ND.
He left us much too early to go to his new home in Heaven on July 23, 2021. His death was caused by complications from his cardiac status.
Erik was born with a congenital heart defect, truncus arteriosus, which required an open-heart surgery at the age of 10 weeks in San Francisco to be repaired. As he grew, the artificial valves were outgrown and needed to be replaced another 6 times.
Erik enjoyed movies, Star Wars, Star Trek, reading, any computer game system and music. He knew a great deal about computers. He loved to build new systems and update old systems. Erik was a great help to many family members when we ran into a glitch!
Erik attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He went on many Scout trips with Troop 216 to Boundary Waters Canoe Area, Camp Wilderness, and the Beartooth Mountains. He built a quinzee in our back yard one winter.
Erik is survived by his parents, David and Marsha (Erickson) Susag of Fargo. His brother, Mark Susag and companion Bridget Carlson, his two nieces Ava and Gabrielle Susag of Fargo. Aunts and uncles: Ivan Susag, Joel Susag, Ron Susag, Wayne Susag, Carolyn Susag Story, Sandra Susag Grajeda and Kim Erickson Mund. Cousins: Pat Mund, Kristin Mund, Lila Grajeda, Carolyn Grajeda, Sander Story and AnaBrit Story.
