Emy Ruth Sauer was born on February 8, 1943 in Fargo, ND to George and Ruth Sauer.
She grew up on a farm south of Valley City, ND. She attended school in Valley City, graduating in 1960. Following graduation, she attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND.
On May 13, 1962 she married Harold Schulz in Valley City. The couple lived in Ludwigsburg, Germany their first year of marriage, where Harold was stationed with the Army.
Harold and Emy were blessed with two children, Chad and Stacey.
They moved to Fargo in 1964. Emy had worked through the years for ND Blue Cross Blue Shield, Lutheran Social Services and American Life and Casualty Insurance Company. She worked 18 years for North Dakota State University, Civil Engineering Department, retiring in February 2005.
In her retirement years, Emy enjoyed her part-time receptionist position at Elim Rehab and Care Center, as well as time spent with the residents. Emy also volunteered at Heirlooms in Fargo.
Emy was a devoted wife and mother. Home and family were very important to her and decorating her home was her passion.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Kermit Sauer.
She is survived by her sister, Diane Hughes, brother, Milton Sauer, husband, Harold and children, Chad and Stacey.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with a visitation one hour prior at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Burial will be at Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND.
