Emily Hestera

Emily Hestera, 64, Dilworth, MN, died Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Emily Claire Hermel was born December 22, 1944, in Fargo, North Dakota, to George and Helma Hermel. She attended various elementary schools in Germany, Holland, Japan and Fargo during her father’s military career. She graduated from Central High School in 1964. She went on to Aakers Business College before working at Pioneer Mutual Life and then MeritCare for 18 years. On September 21, 1968, she married Lawrence Hestera at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fargo. Emily had a great love for her family and was very knowledgeable with the family tree. She loved cats, silly jokes, spending time with her grandkids and talking on the phone. Emily is survived by her husband, Larry, Dilworth, MN; her two daughters, Karen (Mike) Dahl, Horace, ND; Julie Hestera, Moorhead, MN; her son, Kevin (Shelley) Hestera, Glyndon, MN; three grandkids, Zachary, Brandi and Brody Dahl, Horace, ND; her sister, Gwen (Steve) Wright, Eden Prairie, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Helma; her father-in-law, Emil; her mother-in-law, Caroline; brother-in-law, Donald. Funeral Service: Friday, July 17, 2009, at 10:00 AM, at Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth, MN. Visitation: Thursday, July 16, 2009, from 5-7 PM, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
