Elvin Lund, 69, formerly of Bemidji, MN, and Fargo, ND, died on Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Aneta Parkview Nursing Home, Aneta, ND. Elvin Theodore Lund, “Buddy” to his side of the family, was born May 1, 1939, the son of Theodore and Julia (Langerak) Lund of Bemidji, MN. His grandparents, Eivind and Toce Langerak were among the earliest homesteaders in the Bemidji area, settling there in 1893. He was baptized at Aardahl Lutheran Church and confirmed at the First Methodist Church in Bemidji. He attended Bemidji Jr. and Sr. High Schools and received his Masters in Guidance and Counseling at Bemidji State College. During his college years and through his adult years, he was very involved in politics. He went to Washington D.C. and was involved in John F. Kennedy’s election. He was invited to Kennedy’s inauguration and has a signed letter from him. His favorite things to do were birthday and wedding cake decorating for family and community; Rosemauling as a hobby; and working in the flower garden with his granddaughter. Elvin is survived by two daughters, Sheri Seefried and Julie (Mike) Adams; five grandchildren; and one great-grandaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Terry. Funeral Service: Friday, July 11, 2008, at 11:00 AM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
