Elsie L. Bentz, 91, of Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Edgewood Vista in Fargo.
Elsie Lorraine Weisgram was born April 23, 1923 to Anton and Emma (Bauman) Weisgram in Java, SD.
Elsie married Joseph Breunig in 1943. They lived in Leola, SD where they farmed. They later moved to Lisbon, ND where they owned and operated the Fairway Foods grocery store. After they sold the store, Elsie became the Register of Deeds for Ransom County.
Elsie married William Boelter in 1974. They lived and farmed together near Litchville, ND. They enjoyed traveling together and spent their winters in Sun City West, AZ. Bill died in 1990.
Elsie married Edward Bentz in 1997. They lived in both Redfield, SD and Sun City West, AZ. Ed died in 2003.
Elsie was a classy, independent lady who loved to laugh and enjoyed life. She had many cherished hobbies including reading, crocheting, dancing, gardening, cooking, baking, traveling, and most of all visiting with her family and friends. Her grandchildren and children were such a special blessing to her.
Elsie is survived by her children, Jolaine (Curtis) Johnson, Lakeville, MN; Linda (Gary) Milbrandt, Buffalo, ND; Kurt (Becky) Breunig, Billings, MT; Lana Foss, Fargo, ND; Sharon (Faron) Flink, Lake Park, MN; grandchildren, Kevin, Traci, Kari (Jim), Karla (Josh), Kelsey, Hannah, Abby, Colby, Dana (Doug), Corey (Amanda), and Chad; great-grandchildren, Brookelyn, Jace, Aubrey, Noah, Kaden, Cade and Zach; sister-in-law, Elga Weisgram; many step-children, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Emma Weisgram; husbands, Joseph Breunig, Bill Boelter and Ed Bentz; sisters, Lila Bieber and Cele Brunton; brother, Joseph Weisgram; and son-in-law, Todd Foss.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Red River Valley and Edgewood Vista for the wonderful care they gave to Elsie.
