Elroy Alverson, 83, Fargo, ND passed away, Friday, June 25, 2010. Elroy was born December 9, 1926 in Mayville, ND and moved to Fargo with his family. He was an army veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific. Elroy was united in marriage to Doris Graff in 1954, After his discharge he owned and operated a service station in Fargo. Elroy was employed with Bergseth Bros. from 1957-1978, and then worked for the Fargo Teamsters Local until his retirement in 1988. Elroy was a member of Elim Lutheran Church. He belonged to the American Legion, participating in the color guard, and a life member of the West Fargo VFW. Elroy is survived by his wife, Doris; children, Dan (Loree) Alverson, Moorhead, Mike (Debbie) Alverson, Greg (Verna) Alverson, Fargo; 6 grandchildren, Kristi (Joe) Nigg, Tom Alverson, Moorhead, Kelly (Jesse) Baumgardner, Moorhead, Matt (Mena) Alverson, Denver, Alicia Alverson, Minneapolis, Scott Alverson, Fargo; 2 step-granddaughters, Jamie Larson, Moorhead, Jenny (Frank) Thomas, Fargo; 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-step-grandchildren; brother, Gilman (Joyce) Alverson, Sauk Center; sister, Corrine Lamb, Fargo; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Clara Alverson; infant daughter, Barbara; sister, Alice Ollinger. Funeral Service: Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at 11:00 AM, at Elim Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Monday, June 28, 2010, from 5-7 PM, at Elim Lutheran Church with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM, at the church. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
