Elizabeth Fossum

Elizabeth “Betty” Marie Fossum, 79, Fargo, ND, passed away on Monday May 3, 2010, at Bethany Homes of Fargo. Betty was born on March 21, 1931, to John and Elizabeth Marie Funk in Luster, Montana. She grew up in the Akeley/Nevis, Minnesota area. In 1950, she moved to Fargo where she raised her family. She was employed at A & W, Embers, and Bethany Homes of Fargo. After retirement in September of 1997, she became “Grandma” at her daughter’s daycare. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, attending sporting events of her son and grandsons, reading, playing cards and games, baking bread, baking donuts and her “special” caramel rolls, and being with her many special friends. Betty is survived by her children; Steve Ellsworth (Tamara), Rich Ellsworth (Margie), Pam Mathern (Greg), Jan Plath (Jim), DeeDee Ellsworth, Perry Ellsworth (Mariah), Matt Fossum (Jeri); grandchildren, Amanda (Tony), Laura ( Joe), Kris, Nate, Jessie, Stacy, Erik (Andrea), Aaron, Samantha, Zachary, Elijah, Mikayla and a blessed baby due in October; great-grandchildren, Riley, Alissa, Olivia and Xander. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Marie Funk; and sister, Evelyn Dunham, and Esther Wright; brothers, Russell and Laverne Funk. Betty was dearly loved and will be missed and remembered for the special ways she touched all those in her life. Memorial Service: Monday, May 10, 2010, at Noon, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at Hanson-Runsvold. Inurnment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
