Eleanor Rensvold, 93, of Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead, MN.
Margaret Eleanor Rensvold was born on May 16, 1920, to Melvin and Clara (Ohnstad) Holte, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fargo. She grew up on her parents’ farm near Gardner, North Dakota.
She completed her grade school in Gardner and in Fargo, high school at Oak Grove Lutheran School, Fargo, and attended Concordia College and the Interstate Business College.
She married Maynard Rensvold on July 18, 1942, in Abilene, Texas. They lived in Fargo for their whole life together. Maynard died on Dec. 28, 2000.
She enjoyed working in offices and accounting at the Cass County Extension Agency, the Norman State Bank in Hendrum, Dakota Electric Supply in Fargo, Carl Dommer in Moorhead, Moorhead Chamber of Commerce, and Fiebiger Swanson West in Moorhead until her late 80s.
Eleanor was also very active at First Lutheran Church, serving on the Church Council, as president and treasurer of the Women’s Group for many years, and forming a knitting group during the last several years. She was a member of the Eventide Lutheran Foundation Board of Directors, the American Legion Auxiliary, Beta Sigma Phi, C-400 of Concordia College, and the Grover Club.
She enjoyed many social relationships with friends in her neighborhood, at First Lutheran Church and in Moorhead, and kept up correspondence and phone calls with her and Maynard’s relatives wherever they lived.
Eleanor is survived by many cousins and their families and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
