Eleanor Lindsay passed away peacefully on May 30, 2014 in Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Eleanor Erickson was born on April 18, 1921 in McVille, ND to Gertrude and Sam Erickson. After she graduated from McVille High she moved to Fargo and went to work in the office at Woolworth’s.
On January 16, 1945 she married Arlo B. Lindsay and moved to their farm in Mapleton. Eleanor belonged to the Mapleton Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir, chaired the Ladies Aide and worked tirelessly on all their events. She also sang with a group that called themselves the Mother Singers.
In 1965 they moved to Fargo and joined the First Presbyterian Church where she worked on their heritage cookbook and belonged to a circle and Presbyterian Women. She also was a member of Eastern Star and volunteered with the Republican Party. After Arlo passed away she went to work for the Upper Mississippi River Basin Commission until she retired.
Eleanor lived at Bethany Homes Towers II since 2005 until she moved to Jacksonville, FL in April, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlo, her parents and her sisters, Viola and Evelyn. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Lindsay Howard, Atlantic Beach, FL; her son, Larry Lindsay, Camarillo, CA; her granddaughters, Amanda Krasniewski (Michael), Pace, FL; and Lauren Lindsay, West Hollywood, CA; her grandsons, Kyle Lindsay, West Hollywood, CA; and Sean Lindsay, Agoura Hills, CA; and her great-granddaughters, Gabriella and Madeleine Krasniewski, Pace, FL.
