Elaine Gaffaney, 82, of Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at MeritCare Palliative Care, Fargo, ND. Elaine Morrow was born December 22, 1924, at Arthur, North Dakota, daughter of John and Lena (Henderson) Morrow. At age 12, she moved to Fargo, ND, with her family. She graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1942. Elaine married Julian Norby April 15, 1945. Julian died March 20, 1964. Elaine married James Gaffaney February 26, 1968, at Grand Forks, ND. They lived in Grand Forks until 1980, when they moved to Sun Lakes, Arizona, and Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, in the summers. James died in 2001. Elaine moved to One Riverside in Moorhead, MN. Elaine enjoyed golfing, swimming, biking, knitting and playing bridge. She was a member of the September Circle at First Presbyterian Church, Fargo, ND, Chapter T of P.E.O. for 57 years, and a charter member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. Elaine is survived by her children, Charles (Jane) Norby, Fargo, ND; Jane (Timothy) Hanson, Mendota Heights, MN; Gail Steinmetz, Woodbury, MN; Doug (Sandy) Norby, Grand Forks, ND; three brothers, William (Charlotte) Morrow, Mesa, AZ; Jack (Jackie) Morrow, Mesa, AZ; Jim (Linda) Morrow, Moorhead, MN; aunt, Dibbs Henderson, Fargo, ND; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Hilda Morrow; Gladys Morrow, both of Fargo, ND; Andrea Sylvester, Barnesville, MN; Melva Bivens, Seal Beach, CA; brother-in-law, Paul (Margie) Gaffaney, Sun Lakes, AZ; many nieces and nephews; special friends, John Quam, Detroit Lakes, MN; Audrey Hiney, Moorhead, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a granddaughter, Sarah Hanson; infant great-grandson, Samuel Gardner; three brothers, Robert, Charles, and Wayne. Funeral Service: Thursday, April 26, 2007, at 11:00 AM, at First Presbyterian Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Wednesday, April 25, 2007, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
