In Loving Memory of Edward Keen

Sunrise September 27, 1955 - Sunset April 1, 2025

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Edward Keen on April 1, 2025- He had a sense of humor that was unmatched, always finding ways to bring a smile to those around him. And true to his nature, he got the last laugh-choosing to leave us on April Fools' Day. Though he has left this world, his love, kindness, and humor will live on in the countless lives he touched.

For 47 years, he was the devoted husband and best friend of Cindy Keen. Their love was the foundation of a beautiful life together, filled with laughter, adventure, and an unwavering commitment to family. He was a dedicated father to three daughters, Jennifer Keen, Jessica Keen, and Stephanie Keen, a cherished grandfather to eight grandchildren MaKayla Cox (Sam Buchner), Jacob Keen, Tayler Cox, Kaleb Keen-Schlaitzer, Hunter Schlaitzer, Maximus Schlaitzer, Cooper Brown, and Alex Brown, an even prouder great-grandfather to Remi Zuber and Waylon Zuber, his family was at the center of his world, and he never missed an opportunity to show his love and support.

Ed was a man of great skill and craftsmanship, working as a contractor in carpentry. But beyond the homes he remodeled, he built a life full of meaning, friendships, and generosity. He was the kind of man who would do anything for anybody-at least once. His heart was as strong as his hands, always willing to help without hesitation.

Outside of work, he found his greatest joy in the outdoors, where he felt most at home. Whether he was gathered around a crackling campfire with a "Diet Coke" in hand, sharing stories and laughter, or out camping, boating, fishing, or four-wheeling, he embraced every adventure with a full heart. He understood that life's simplest moments-surrounded by nature and loved ones-were the ones that truly mattered. His deep love for his family was evident in every trip, every shared meal, and every moment spent making memories together.

His kindness unwavering, his love immeasurable, and his wit beyond compare. He was a man who lived fully, laughed often, and loved deeply. Though we grieve his passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived-one that left an undeniable mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on September 27, 1955, in Baltimore, Maryland, he is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Keen Jr and Doris Keen, along with three of his brothers Norm Keen, Dave Keen and Mike Keen and two living sisters Penny Vogt and Carol Gilbert, who will forever cherish their memories together. His presence in our lives was a gift, and though he is gone, his spirit will never fade.

A celebration of his life will be held on a later date this summer, where friends and loved, ones are invited to share stories, laughter, and a toast in his honor-preferably with a "Diet Coke" or Busch Light in hand.

Rest easy, Ed Keen. May your fire always burn bright, and your laughter continue to echo in our hearts.
