Edna Groth

Edna Groth, 93, of Fargo, ND, went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at Maryhill Manor, Enderlin, ND. Edna Marie Lambrecht was born April 4, 1914 near Gwinner, North Dakota, to Reinhold and Emilie (Kirmis) Lambrecht. She attended various elementary schools. Edna graduated from Lisbon High School in 1932, where she was an avid basketball player. She married Irvin Groth December 22, 1934. They farmed in Moore Township, near Enderlin, from 1934 to 1950. In 1950, they moved to Wimbledon, ND, where they owned and operated the John Deere store. Edna was the bookkeeper. In 1968, they retired and moved to Fargo. Irv and Edna spent winters in Mesa, Arizona, and summers at Cotton Lake. Irvin passed away in 1978. Edna moved to the Pioneer House in 2002, and in 2005, moved to the Rock of Ages in Jamestown. Edna was a resident at Maryhill Manor in Enderlin, at the time of her death. Edna loved her family. Her friends, church and spending time with her family were the most important things to her. She was an avid fisherman, quilter and seamstress. She made great lefse and was also handy with the wrench. She will be greatly missed by those that love her. Edna is survived by two daughters, Verna (Don) Timms, Newark, OH; and Barbara (Roger) Nims, Lisbon, ND; a son-in-law, Russel Hoggarth, Wimbledon; five grandchildren, Mona (Eric) Spalsbury, Delaware, OH; Scott (Colleen) Timms, Troy, OH; Ronald Hoggarth, Wimbledon, ND; Lisa (Richard) Smith, Sioux Falls, SD; Michael Nims, Lisbon, ND; eight great-grandchildren, Kelsy, Craig and Cameron Timms; Alana and Nick Spalsbury; Gail Muller; Spencer and Morgan Smith; and two great great-grandchildren, Lane and Kyia Muller. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Irvin; infant son, Ronald; daughter, Eileen Hoggarth; and one sister, Norma Lohr. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers. Funeral Service: Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at 2:00 PM, at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Monday, November 19, 2007, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Prayer Service: Monday, at 7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
