Edmund Roy Tyson passed away on August 7th, 2015 at the age of 83 surrounded by loved ones in his home. He was born in Crosby, ND on December 28th, 1931. Ed was raised in Bismarck, ND and graduated from Bismarck High School where he was active in all sports and concert choir. He graduated in 1951. Ed furthered his education at NDSU and graduated in 1955. He was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. Ed went on to be employed by Lever Brothers Company for 12 years as a salesman and later as an area manager. In 1970, Ed became a stockbroker with Dain Bosworth where he held the title of senior vice president/investment officer. He received many honors, recognitions, and trips until his retirement in 1995. After retirement Ed spent winters at Red Mountain Ranch in Mesa, Arizona.
Ed was president of the Sertoma Club, president of the NDSU Team Makers, a member of Olivet Lutheran Church, and served as a member on the North Dakota Banking Board from 1996 to 1999. He remained active throughout his life by golfing, hunting, fishing, bowling, and was an avid NDSU fan. Ed married Dawn Zieman on February 22nd, 1958 in Oakes, North Dakota.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Dawn Tyson, son Rodney Tyson (Fargo, ND), daughter Kim Tyson (Apple Valley, MN), sister Beverly (Lloyd) Thompson (Fargo, ND), granddaughters Lindsey (Ryan) Isdahl (North St. Paul, MN), Jamie Tyson (Fargo, ND), Jessica Tyson (Fargo, ND), and Emily Tyson (Snohomish, Wa). Preceded in death by son Keith Tyson, parents George Tyson and Ettie Tyson, and brother, Bob Tyson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Olivet Parish Nurse Program, or Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch.
