Duane John Rogne, 74, of Fargo, ND passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Essentia Health.
Duane was born on August 20, 1938 to John and Irene Rogne. After graduation from Kindred High School, he attended Wahpeton Science College. Duane and Carol have two sons, Jay and Dustin; and a grand-daughter, Nicolette.
Duane was owner and manager of the Dutch Maid Grill in Fargo for several years, and then became a franchise holder for Burger King Restaurants. He then began as a general contractor, building several Burger King Restaurants in the tri-state area. Later, his construction company developed and built many buildings in the Fargo area, including Country Suites, Midtown Center Mall, the 42nd Street Apartment Building, Playmakers, and Harwood Grove Village Homes.
Duane liked to be active, and enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing, and was a big Bison fan. He enjoyed local events and was always willing to work on projects that would help people in our community.
He met with a group of friends for coffee in the mornings and his Christian fellowship at Hope Lutheran Church, South Campus was important to him.
Duane is survived by his sons, Jay and Dustin; grand-daughter, Nicolette; sister, Kay and her husband, Duane (Windy) Lindblad; brother, Robert and his wife Carmen; brother, Eric and his wife, Sara.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the YWCA Women’s Shelter.
