Doug J. Saul, 49, of Fargo, ND, died unexpectedly at his home in Fargo on Wednesday, July 16, 2014.
Douglas Jay Saul was born August 12, 1964 to John and Joan (Anderson) Saul in Fargo, ND. He attended school in Fargo, graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1983, and went on to attend and graduate from Wahpeton State School of Science. He worked for Superior Customs prior to going to work at Elders Communications (Midstates Wireless) in 1996. He installed a countless number of radios in area law enforcement cars over the years.
Doug was instrumental in getting the Frisbee Golf (frolf) league started in Fargo and enjoyed many rounds of frolfing with friends. Many Saturday mornings were spent driving Mom to her haircuts, then to the grocery store once she moved into senior living. Joan enjoyed the time she was able to spend with him until her passing in 2008.
Doug cherished his Saturday night poker games with the boys, held in his boyhood home, which is where he lived until his death. One thing you could always count on was Doug driving a Cadillac!
Doug was a kind, quiet, and gentle soul who loved his dog, Hank, immensely. He was deeply loved by his family and they will miss him dearly.
Doug is survived by his brother, Greg Saul, Beeville, TX; sisters, Lynn (John) Blokzyl, Corona, CA; Gini (Henry) Corneliussen, Moorhead, MN; and Tracey (Mark) Braeger, Fargo, ND; seven nephews; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and nephew, Chad Corneliussen.
