Douglas James Kinslow, 57, of Flagstaff, Arizona, passed away in the presence of his family and friends on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, Illinois.
Doug was born to Charles and Dolores (Henderson) Kinslow on August 9, 1955, in Fargo, ND. He was raised in Fargo and graduated from Fargo South High School in 1973
Doug enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1973 and served for 4 years as an Elect, Mate. After his service to our country, he lived in the Phoenix, Arizona area for 25 years, and then moved to Flagstaff, Arizona in 1983. The seasons in Flagstaff reminded him of life in North Dakota and Minnesota. He enjoyed playing golf and umpired baseball for many years.
Doug was a carpenter for most of his career. Five years ago he switched careers and began working for the Coconino County Youth Correctional Facility. He enjoyed his new job and had a special place in his heart for helping youth.
Surviving Doug are his mother, Dolores Kinslow of Fargo; siblings, David (Vicki) Kinslow, Moorhead, MN: Donald (Nancy) Kinslow, Detroit Lakes, MN; Dale (Pam) Kinslow, Fargo, ND; Melody Dickson, Casselton, ND; Donna Barnes, Salt Lake City, UT; as well as 7 nephews and 2 nieces.
Preceding Doug in death was his father, Charles Kinslow, and his grandparents.
