Dorothy Ochsner

Dorothy Ochsner, 88, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Pioneer House, Fargo, ND. Dorothy Virginia Detmers was born January 29, 1921, in Oriska, North Dakota, daughter of William and Carrie (Segren) Detmers. She grew up in that area of North Dakota and attended school in Oriska. She married Ruben Ochsner on September 29, 1940, in Moorhead, Minnesota. Dorothy worked as a switchboard operator at Fargo Clinic before staying home to raise their children. She returned to work at the clinic until her retirement. Dorothy was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for many years and taught Sunday school and participated in many church activities. Dorothy is survived by her son, Allan (Marlene) Ochsner; her daughter, Colleen (Larry) Czichotzki, all of Fargo, ND; two grandsons, Jacob and Nathan Ochsner; a sister, Frances Kay, Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother, Harvey. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley. Funeral Service: Friday, December 4, 3009 at 2PM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 5-7PM with a 7PM Prayer Service at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
