She wasn’t too keen on a lengthy obituary. But, she did say we could do what we thought best. We think she had a pretty interesting life and sharing some highlights would be okay.

Mom left this world at age 94 on July 22, 2023, to join Dad for some cutthroat Scrabble games in the afterlife.

She was born on April 5, 1929, in Harvey, ND. Her parents were Benjamin and Anetta (Hanson) Molsberry. She attended public school in Harvey, graduating in 1947. Then, on to UND in Grand Forks for two-and-a-half years, followed by an internship at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND, to complete her degree in Medical Technology in 1951.

During that internship, she met her future husband, Del Johnson. They married in Harvey, ND, on December 5, 1953. She worked at Harvey Medical Center and Northwest Clinic in Minot before they moved to Fargo in 1955, where she worked at Fargo Clinic (now Sanford). She later worked at the Fargo VA Hospital until 1990, when she retired.

After retiring, she enjoyed her water aerobics "breakfast club" group at the YMCA, traveling with Dad, lunches with her med tech friends, and the Fine Arts Club. As she became less mobile, she loved doing crossword puzzles. She. Was. Good.

Dorothy is survived by daughters, Ann (Tom) Westra, Moorhead, MN, Ruth (Kevin) Black, Fargo, ND; stepdaughter, Linda Wilson, Long Beach, CA; sister, Ruth (Roy) Hamer, Fargo; sister-in-law, Florence Molsberry, Alamogordo, NM; beloved cat, Harley; step-grandsons, Wade (Cheryl) Velasquez, Fort Myers, FL, and Jason Unwin, Cape Coral, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delwin; infant daughter, Kathryn; stepdaughter, Cathy (and Paul) Unwin; step-grand-daughter, Jenny Unwin; sister, Opal (and Dino) Preftokis; brothers, Milton (and Gail) and Donald; and step-son-in-law, John Wilson.

Memorials preferred to Homeward Animal Shelter and Cats Cradle Shelter.
