Doris Mae Ann Strom

Doris Mae Ann Strom, 94, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Sanford Hospice House. A prayer service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND with a visitation one hour prior.

Doris Mae Ann Walstad was born on March 11, 1930 in Moorhead, MN to Millard and Anna (Jensen) Walstad. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in rural Borup, MN.

Doris married Milton Christianson in 1947 and they had one son, Jerry.

Doris attended and graduated from the New York Hairdressing Academy in Fargo, ND in 1947.

She later married Joseph A. Strom in August 1951 in Fargo, ND. They had 5 children, Nancy, Gregory, Joseph Jr., and 2 deceased infant sons. Through their life they resided in Fargo, ND, Aberdeen, SD, Bismarck, ND, and returned to Fargo in 1965.

Upon returning to Fargo, Doris worked at Fashion Villa Beauty Salon, Lola's Beauty Salon, and later opened Doris' Beauty Salon in her home.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, son Gregory, and two infant sons.

Doris is survived by her children, Jerry (Nancy) Christianson; Nancy (Greg) Duffy; Joseph Strom, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Rebecca, Joshua, Hannah, Jessica, Alexa, Vanessa, and Jonathan; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
