Doris M. Lusk, 93, passed away peacefully at Bethany on 42nd on Sunday, April 23, 2017.
Doris was born April 4, 1924 in Spiritwood, North Dakota where she was raised and attended school. She continued her education and graduated from Valley City State University. Doris taught school for 2 years. After teaching she made a career change and graduated from Jamestown School of Business.
Doris married Donald Lusk at First Presbyterian Church in Jamestown on September 5, 1948. They were transferred to Fargo in 1953 and raised their two daughters.
Doris enjoyed her business years at Anderson Construction and Ag Communication at NDSU. After retirement Doris and Don spent their winters in Florida.
Doris was very active in the Presbyterian Church. She served on the Board of Trustees and remained active in many areas. Doris was the third president of the new Washington Elementary School and served on the PTA Council and YWCA Board. Doris was also active in civic affairs. Doris was a PEO member and past member of the Home Economics Section of Fine Arts.
Doris had many interests that she enjoyed; bridge, cooking and trying new recipes, reading, traveling, and doing volunteer work. Doris enjoyed spending time with her family and having coffee with her many friends.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Janet Lusk, Seattle, Washington; sister, Faye Cooch, Fargo; brother, George Brownson; nieces, Katherine (Gary) Fox, Lynn Cooch, Jane Metzger (Bryan), Pat Rominsky (Don), Sheri Solvie (Scott), Cindy Stapleton (Curtis), Jo Lusk, Pam (Harold) Miller, Diane (John) Wieder; nephew, Billy Slade (Angie) and cousins, Skip and Mary Schmitz.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marian (Mattison) Brownson; husband, Don; brother, Edward (Marian); daughter and son-in-law, Linda Stoetzer (Keith); sister, Frances Bellon, and brother-in-law, Bob Cooch.
