Doris A. Flaming (Selvig) passed away peacefully at Edgewood Vista, Fargo, ND on October 10, 2017.
Doris was born in Fargo on December 8, 1921 to Thora and Olaf Selvig. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran in Fargo. She graduated from Fargo Central High and from NDSU in Home Economics.
Doris married Stanley Brandt in 1944 and raised their four daughters in the Fargo/Moorhead area. Stanley died in 1967. She was then married to Leo Flaming in December, 1970. They lived in West Fargo and enjoyed traveling. They spent many years wintering in Scottsdale, Arizona as well as enjoying their summers at Lake Lizzie.
Doris taught in Oakes, ND and later was employed at the FM Treetop, Oak Manor, Holiday Inn and later became manager of Blacks Brookdale in Moorhead.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Thora Selvig; a brother, Abner Selving; husbands, Stan Brandt and Leo Flaming.
She leaves behind her four daughters, Pat (Dick) Waslien, Pam (Dick) Ehrlich, Penny (Lance) Wolf, Paula (Mike) Downing; stepson, Tom (Olga) Flaming and 8 grandchildren: Kim (Ehrlich) Geisler (Dave), Charity (Rusch) Brondyke (Troy), Jody Ehrlich, Mikki (Waslien) Northuis (Scott), Chad Rusch (Katie), Courtney (Rusch) Galindo (Lee), Lindsay (Downing) Fletcher (Brian), Laini (Downing) Wilson (Dan); and 12 great-grandchildren.
Doris was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be missed.
Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church, Hospice of the Red River Valley or Edgewood Vista/Glenn’s Place.
