Doris M. (Daley) Evans, 77, of Harwood, ND passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020.
Doris was born on February 10, 1943 in Sharon, CT to Kenneth and Edna Daley. Doris grew up on a farm near Red Hook, NY where she graduated from Red Hook High School in 1961. After graduation she attended a Secretarial school and worked at the Naval Research Laboratories.
In March of 1963 Doris married Wilber "Bill" Brown and they moved to Fairborn, OH. They had two children, Tamera and Andrew. In 1980 Doris met John E. Evans Jr. whom she married in March, 1982 where she inherited step-son, Philip (Mike) and step-daughter, Suzanne. Doris quickly acclimated to military life as husband John served in the USAF. They lived overseas in Taegu, Korea (Taegu Air Base K-2) from 1985-1987 and then on to Upper Heyford, England (Royal Air Base) until 1990. While overseas, Doris volunteered time as a Military Affiliated Radio Serve (MARS) operator and at the Base Red Cross. In October 1990, they returned to the states to finish husband John's 30-year Air Force career in 1994 at Grand Forks AFB. Doris and John settled down in Harwood, ND. Doris loved quilting, reading, and socializing with friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth; mother, Edna; brothers, Kenneth and Russell; daughter, Tamera (Brown) Deeble; and son, Andrew Brown.
Doris is survived by her husband, John; sister, Joan Magnaralla; step-son, Philip "Mike" (Paula) Evans; step-daughter, Suzanne (Mark) Kowarsch; son-in-law, Jon Deeble; granddaughter, Hannah (Deeble) Engel; grandsons, Joshua, Justin, John Tyler; and Devin Evans.
A Celebration of Doris' Life will be held at a later date in Shelby, Iowa where she will be laid to rest.
