Dora Davis

Dora E. Davis, 80, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, September 16, 2010. Dora was born in Bisbee, ND, on December 19, 1929, where she grew up and graduated from high school. At the age of 18, she moved to Fargo, ND, where she attended Interstate Business College. She lived with and worked for the Schlossman family while also working as Credit Manager at The Store Without a Name. In later years, she worked for Kelly Services doing temp work, mostly for Norwest Bank. She married John H. Davis on May 22, 1953. They had three children: Jack, Karen and Jane. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John; son, Jack (Erlene) Davis, Vergas, MN, and their sons Nathan (Jaclyn) Davis, Fargo, and Scott Davis, Fargo; daughters, Karen (Chuck) Malmskog, their children Dan Malmskog and Kellie Malmskog, Maple Grove, MN, and Jane (Paul) Olson, Fargo, and their children Craig Sukke, Grand Forks, ND, and Philip Olson, Fargo. She is also survived by three sisters, Alice Pickard, Woodburn, OR, Helen Parker, Auburn, WA, and Phyllis Riediger, Rolla, ND, sister-in-law Janice Pickard, Fargo, ND, brother- and sisters-in-law, Brad and Betty Davis, Cody, WY, Marlys Moll, Tacoma, WA and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Carrie (Cookman) Pickard, brother William Pickard, parents-in-law John and Annie (Johnson) Davis, brothers- and sisters-in-law Eloise and Norm Gangnes and LaVerne and Charles Bissel. Dora’s family would like to thank the staff of the Roger Maris Cancer Center, Sanford hospital nurses on the third and seventh floors and especially Dr. Gerald Gross, Susan Hoffland and Dr. Gross’ nurse, Kim, for their many kindnesses over the last four years. Funeral: Tuesday, September 21, 2010, 2:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Monday, September 20, 2010 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
