Donna Mae Lois Fluge

Donna Mae Lois Fluge was born November 22, 1935, to Sam and Ethel (Franson) Fluge at the farm near Starkweather, North Dakota. She attended the first 3 years of schooling at a rural school west of Starkweather. In the fall of 1944, she moved with her parents to a farm at Egeland, ND, and started the 4th grade at the Egeland Public School. She graduated from Egeland High School in 1953.
Donna began her career with Dawson Insurance Agency in Fargo in 1964. She worked in various departments of insurance and the last several years she worked in the commercial lines department. She achieved the Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation as well in 1977, the Outstanding Customer Service Representative of North Dakota award. To receive this award Tom Dawson of Dawson Insurance nominated her as a candidate.
Donna retired Dec. 31, 1998, from Dawson Insurance Agency. After retirement she did some part-time work and then was the cook for Wednesday night meals and other events at Hope Lutheran Church in Fargo.
Donna spent her leisure time volunteering at Essentia Health Hospital and Hope Lutheran Church. She always did some traveling - Florida, Texas, Arizona, California, North and South Carolinas. A trip to Norway was special as she got to see where her father was born and the area where he was raised.
Donna's 2 nieces, Karen and Jo Marie and 3 nephews, Eric, Joe and Scott, were very special to her as she spent many good times with them and their families.
Donna is survived by Karen (Larry Graff) Jensen, Jo Marie (Tim Olson) Jensen, Neil (Sandra) Jensen, Eric (Dani) Fluge, Joe Fluge, Scott (Melissa) Fluge, several great-nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, Gladys Fluge and Millie Bokern.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Arliss Jensen, and two brothers, Arnold and Duane Fluge.
Funeral Service: 2pm, Friday, March 11, 2022 at Hope Lutheran Church - South Campus, Fargo, ND with a visitation an hour and a half prior. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
Burial: Egeland Union Cemetery, Egeland, ND.
