Donald L. Quittschreiber died from cancer at Sanford, April 20, 2013, surrounded by family.
Donald was born May 14, 1945 to Myrtle and Lowell Quittschreiber in Fargo, ND. He graduated from Fargo Central in 1963 and attended NDSU. He married Donna Gruenberg in 1964 and they moved to California. After a year in CA, he returned to Fargo where he worked for Waldorf Corp. From 1976 to present, he worked for G & M Lathing, later in the role of president of the company.
Donna died in 2004 and in 2006, Don married Ruth Swain and they made their home in West Fargo.
Over the years, Don enjoyed many different activities. When his boys were young, he enjoyed being at the lake, water sports, and fishing. He spent many hours in his garden, both growing and preserving food. For the last 30 years, Don was an avid duplicate bridge player. He enjoyed reading, traveling, golf, theatre, and watching baseball/football on television.
He is survived by sons, David (Kelly) of Barnesville, MN; and Trever (Teena) of Bradenton, FL; four grandchildren, Justin and Jessica of Bradenton, FL, and Kaylee and Amber, Barnesville, MN. Also surviving him is step-daughter, Desiree Swain of Tulsa, OK; and brother, Jim of Fargo.
A viewing will be held April 25, 2013 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, from 5-7PM.
A celebration of his life will be held at First United Methodist Church in Fargo, at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 11, 2013, followed by fellowship and refreshments.
