Donald (Don) E. McCracken, 69, of Fargo, passed away November 18, 2013 at Sanford Health.
Don was born in Oklahoma on October 27, 1944 to Donald and Irene McCracken. He attended school in Fargo. During school he worked at EPKO Film, then moved to St. Paul, MN and worked at Brown Photo.
In 1969, he started his photography journey of school pictures, weddings, family and senior portraits at McCracken Studio.
Don was a master craftsman, photographer, Certified Professional Photographer National Judge, recipient of the National Award, and active in the State, Regional, and National Associations.
Upon retiring he started a new adventure as “Bus Driver” which he did until entering the hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Cheryl (Dustin Hetland, fiancé) and DJ (Cathy) Iver, all of Fargo; granddaughter, Taylor; brother, Jeff (Sue) McCracken, Pelican Rapids, MN; special uncle, David McCracken, Washington; lots of special cousins, nieces and nephews and lake friends.
Thanks to the staff at Sanford for all their efforts and comfort during a tough fight with Don.
