Donald Martin, 55, of West Fargo, ND, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Donald Earl Martin was born to Clarence and Alvina (Underwood) Martin on May 5, 1953, in Bismarck, North Dakota. He was raised and schooled there and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1971. During high school, he was active in swimming and established numerous local and state records. On July 1, 1972, he married Susan Leno in Bismarck and they had two children, Chris and Shannon. On August 18, 2000, he married Joline Hyndman in Kragnes, Minnesota, and they had one son, Nicholas. Over the last 20 years, he worked for Kroll’s Restaurants in Bismarck, Minot and Fargo, North Dakota, as a manager. Don enjoyed all outdoor activities and watching many sports on television. He especially loved pheasant hunting and watching the Green Bay Packers. He was extremely proud of his three children and all of their accomplishments. He had no trouble bragging about them in his many conversations throughout an ordinary day. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched. Don is survived by his wife, Joline, West Fargo, ND; two sons, Chris (Kaylene) Martin, Bismarck, ND; and Nicholas Martin, West Fargo, ND; one daughter, Shannon Martin, Buffalo Grove, IL; his father, Clarence Martin, Bismarck, ND; and two sisters, Peggy Martin, Aberdeen, SD; and Kathy Noehre, Akron, OH. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alvina; his grandparents; and his beloved hunting companion, Mindy. Memorial Service: Friday, November 7, 2008, at 11:00 AM, at Parkway Funeral Service – 2330 Tyler Parkway – Bismarck, North Dakota. Visitation: One hour prior to the service. There will be no services at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home.
