Don Al Kramer was born August 10, 1934 in Fargo, ND, son of David and Leona (Skuse) Kramer. Don grew up in Fargo, ND. He graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1952 and also attended NDAC (now NDSU).
Don was united in marriage to Sharon Sue Marshall on January 27, 1962 at the First Presbyterian Church in Fargo, ND by Reverend Dr. Willard Strall. They resided in Fargo.
Don was employed by the Northern Pacific Railway Company (later BN and BNSF) from January 11, 1955 to June 21, 1996 when he retired after nearly 43 years of service.
Don died on Friday, October 27, 2023 at the age of 89, at his home in Fargo.
Don is survived by his brother, David (Beverly) Kramer, Moorhead, MN; sister-in-law, Carolyn Faye Roach (Sharon's sister), Mattoon, IL; brother-in-law, Bruce Briggs Marshall (Della) of Kingston, TN (Sharon's brother); and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Don was a member of the Fargo Elks Lodge #260, a member of three Masonic Lodges, serving as Worshipful Master of Sunrise Lodge #130 in 1987, all of the York Rite Bodies and the York Rite College, a member of El Zagal Shrine and the El Zagal Mobil Nobles, and served as their President in 1990. Don was awarded the El Zagal Samsar Jewel award in 2005 by Illustrious Sir Steve Hanson.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Sue, and his parents.
Visitation will begin at noon, with a a Masonic Service at 12:30pm and a Memorial Service at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home in Fargo.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo.
