Dolores Mary (LaVoi) Welle, was born October 28, 1928 on the family farm in Fosston, Minnesota, to parents, Arthur and Mabel LaVoi. She attended High School in Fosston, graduating in 1945. After high school, Dolores worked as a hairdresser. While working in Bemidji, she met and married the love of her life, Charles (Chris) Welle. They were united in marriage May 24, 1952 in Bemidji, MN.
Dolores enjoyed painting, travel, golf, bridge and cooking for her family. She was a “Welcome Wagon” hostess and volunteer hairdresser at a local nursing home. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Her sense of humor lasted until her final moments. She died peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday, January 3, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.
She leaves four sons and two daughters: Nicholas, Wheatridge, CO; Mary (Dale) Kasowski, Bismarck, ND; Charles, Wheatridge, CO; Gregory (Julie), Davenport, FL; Barbara (Curt) Lindvig, Fargo, and Father Anthony, Indiatlantic, FL; one sister, June (Jim) Bingham; two brothers, Warren (Diane) LaVoi and Andrew (Maggie) LaVoi; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Welle, Margaret Welle, Joe and Jane Welle; twelve grandchildren: Matt (Jill), Greg (Heather), Chris Kasowski, Amy (Andrew) Brown, Sarah (Garrett) Mikrut, John and Emily Lindvig, Lee and David Speight, Hannah Welle, Patrick and Alisabeth Whalin, and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Chris, her husband of 49 years; her parents; three sisters, Audrey Thomas, Theresa Capps, Patricia Sandquist; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Richard Welle, Robert and Jeanette Welle, Daniel and Patricia Welle; a grandson, John Nicholas Kasowski and great-granddaughter, Maelee Linn Kasowski.
