Dolores Monson

Dolores Monson, 81, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at Sanford Health, Fargo. Dolores Ann Schmidt was born April 11, 1929, in Worthington, Minnesota, daughter of Henry J. and Anna C. (Nelson) Schmidt. Dolores moved with her family to Fargo, North Dakota, at the age of 15 and graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1947. Dolores married Bennie D. Monson July 22, 1950, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fargo. She worked as a bookkeeper for Hustad-Kelly, Sears and Community First Bank. Bennie died October 22, 1984. Dolores loved being with, and especially cooking for, her family. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards and board games. Dolores is survived by her son, David (Nancy) Monson, Fargo, ND; and two daughters, Diane (Greg) Slotten, Slayton, MN; Karen (Larry) Bahr, Breckenridge, MN; grandchildren, Leanna Monson; Adam Slotten; Lindsey Slotten; and Heather (Chris) Lundberg; step-grandchildren, Cyrus (Amy) Bahr; Melissa (Jeff) Snyder; and step-great-grandchildren, Dylan and Ashlynn Bahr; Gavin and Tessa Snyder. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bennie; and her son, Gary. Funeral Service: Saturday, September 11, 2010, at 10:00 AM, at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Friday, September 10, 2010, from 5-7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
