Dolores Claire (Henderson) Kinslow, 87, of Fargo, ND, passed away June 9th at Bethany Nursing Home. She was born on the Henderson farm near Clifford, ND, February 7, 1930, to Lawrence and Jean (Priewe) Henderson. At the age of 3, the family moved East of Erie, ND, to the Whitman farm. Dolores attended school at Erie until the 6th grade, the family then moved to the Beattie farm near Ayre, ND, where she graduated from High School.
Dolores married Charles Melvin Kinslow from Edgeley, ND in 1949. They moved to South Fargo where they lived for over 60 years. She raised 6 children, Melody, David, Donald, Douglas, Dale, and Donna.
Dolores was an active fixture in the community. Volunteering with political activities, Bonanzaville, church activities including card making and quilting, Hospice and so much more. Playing Solitaire with her husband was a daily enjoyable activity. She beamed with pride over her beautiful backyard garden, she could grow anything! Canning peaches, making potato salad and goulash, delivering May Day baskets, always remembering every birthday, writing daily journals, tracking her heritage, stamp and coin collecting. These are just a few of her many remarkable traits.
Dolores is survived by her children; Melody Dixon, Casselton, ND; David (Vicki) Kinslow, Moorhead, MN: Donald (Nancy) Kinslow, Detroit Lakes, MN; Dale (Pam), Kinslow Fargo, ND; Donna Barnes, Utah; grandchildren, Scott Mertz, Corey Mertz, Jason Mertz, Jennifer (Mertz) Bratholt, Emily Knight; Aaron Kinslow, Nathan Kinslow; sister, Bethyl Leuck, Jamestown, ND; brothers, Bob Henderson, Gary Henderson; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kinslow; son, Douglas Kinslow; parents, Lawrence and Jean Henderson; sisters Audrey Johnson and Margie Rieke.
Dolores’s family wishes to thank the staff at Bethany Nursing Home and Hospice for the special care she received during her illness.
